Welcoming New Members to Rotary Club of Kampala North

On Monday, 15 June 2026, the Rotary Club of Kampala North will welcome three outstanding individuals into its fellowship. Their journeys are different, but they share a common commitment to service, personal growth, and community impact.

Every new member brings a story. Rotary gives that story a larger platform for service.
EDITH OYULU
From Global Peacebuilding to Local Service

Few people can say they have spent a quarter century helping nations navigate conflict, support peace processes, and strengthen diplomacy across Africa and beyond. Edith Oyulu can.

Edith retired from international civil service in 2025 after 25 years of dedicated service with the United Nations. During her career, she served in various capacities, rising from Political Affairs Officer to senior leadership roles in Political Affairs Divisions within UN peacekeeping operations.

Her work took her to several conflict and post-conflict settings, including Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Haiti, Sierra Leone, and Mali. She supported political processes, mediation efforts, peace talks, political analysis, and policy advice to senior UN leadership.

Her final UN assignment was at Headquarters in New York, where she served as Senior Political Affairs Officer and Team Leader of the African Union Partnership Team in the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General for Africa.

A Rotarian at Heart

Edith first joined the Rotary family in 2013 while working in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Her motivation was simple but powerful: to join forces with like-minded people and create greater impact in serving humanity.

Now that she has retired from active international service, Edith looks forward to dedicating more time to Rotary, especially in support of education and community development.

Beyond the Diplomat

Away from diplomacy and peacebuilding, Edith loves music, singing, dancing, and travel. She is fluent in English and French, and brings with her a rich appreciation of cultures, people, and global friendships.

She also has a memorable fun fact. For many years, Edith strongly disliked green vegetables and would jokingly say, “I don’t graze” whenever they were offered to her. After surgery in 2024 and a renewed commitment to healthy living, she changed her mindset and now eats vegetables daily.

VICTOR MUGISHA
Building Healthier Spaces, Building Better Lives

The Rotary Club of Kampala North is pleased to welcome Victor Mugisha, an entrepreneur, wellness advocate, researcher, husband, and father whose work is dedicated to helping people live healthier and more intentional lives.

Victor is the Founder of New Day Wellness Center, where he serves as a Bio-Architect and Behaviour Specialist. His work focuses on understanding how the environments in which people live, work, and spend their time influence wellbeing, productivity, and quality of life.

Through a combination of wellness science, environmental design, and behavioural psychology, Victor helps individuals and organisations create spaces that support health, focus, and personal growth.

Family First

Behind Victor’s professional journey is a strong commitment to family. His wife and daughter are the centre of his world and the inspiration behind much of what he does. They motivate his pursuit of healthier living and his desire to contribute to a better future for the next generation.

The healthiest communities are built when we invest in people, relationships, and environments that allow them to thrive.

A Student of Human Potential

Victor’s journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning and self-improvement. Before focusing on wellness and behavioural research, he competed in football, swimming, and martial arts. These experiences instilled in him discipline, resilience, and determination.

Today, he is a dedicated researcher of human behaviour and wellness, fascinated by the factors that enable people to achieve their full potential.
