RCKN Weekly Update to Members
This week from the President’s Desk: appreciation for a memorable Charter Night, Kampala North members carrying the Club flag across the wider Rotary family, continued momentum on projects, a new Rotarian of the Month recognition, Cancer Run preparations, TRF giving and a word of thanks for your Happy Shillings.
“Thank you once again for your love, commitment and service. Let’s continue to shine together.”
RCKN Weekly Update to Members
“Good evening my dear RCKN Family, visiting Rotarians, Rotaractors and Guests. Welcome to our special Charter Night fellowship as we celebrate service, fellowship and impact.”
We begin the week by celebrating two members of our Kampala North family — Rtn. David Mafigiri and PP Ibrahim Kasirye.
Congratulations to you both. We pray that the good Lord continues to bless you abundantly as we celebrate another year in your lives.
Our special Charter Night gave us an opportunity to celebrate the history, fellowship and journey of the Rotary Club of Kampala North.
I appreciate the Past Presidents Council for organising the evening with great vigor, energy and commitment. Thank you also to our Past Presidents for contributing towards the activities of the night and helping us celebrate this important milestone in the life of our Club.
While we gathered for our own fellowship, Kampala North was also being represented across the wider Rotary family.
I appreciate members who continue to widen our footprint through club visits, mentorship, fellowship and participation in Rotary and community activities. Each appearance helps strengthen relationships and keeps the RCKN brand visible beyond our own fellowship.

Our service projects continued to receive attention during the week, with the SORVP team maintaining the momentum.
Special appreciation goes to Chair Pascal, who is providing leadership on three projects. The continued activity is an important reminder that beyond our fellowships and celebrations, service remains at the heart of what Kampala North does.
Good work deserves to be noticed.
On a monthly basis, we shall recognise a Rotarian of the Month, courtesy of FoR Penny. A committee has been put in place to evaluate and announce the recipient.
It gives us another opportunity to celebrate members whose commitment, participation and service help move our Club forward.
Attention now turns to the Cancer Run Activation on 17 August, ahead of the Cancer Run on 30 August 2026.
The Cancer Run gives Kampala North another opportunity to participate in a Rotary cause that brings together Rotarians, families, friends and communities in support of the fight against cancer.
Our support for The Rotary Foundation will receive greater visibility during the year.
We shall recognise TRF contributors every month, while the TRF Chair will have a dedicated monthly slot to keep members informed and maintain our focus on Foundation giving. This will help make TRF part of our regular Club conversation rather than something we discuss only occasionally.
Those Happy Shillings we contribute at fellowship may sometimes seem like small individual amounts, but together they contribute towards the Club’s overall budget for the year.
Thank you to everyone who continues to give. Every contribution helps.
“Thank you once again for your love, commitment and service. Let’s continue to shine together.”
